The Class of 2017 Baccalaureate Service will take place at 7PM on June 14, 2017, at New Hope Church in Lorton. Baccalaureate is a time-honored tradition held at many high schools, colleges and universities. At South County High School, this inspirational ceremony celebrates the achievements, accomplishments and aspirations of our graduating students. In addition to performances by SCHS Seniors, various community leaders and clergy will be featured. All seniors who attend will take part in a candle lighting ceremony. Baccalaureate is sponsored by the PTSO, parents and student volunteers. (read Baccalaureate, Fact or Fiction)
Planning meetings will begin in February. Parents are welcome to be involved! A committee run by parents will oversee the organization of the service, including invitations, programs, arranging speakers, assisting with student performances, and event coordination. If you would like to learn more about Baccalaureate or help with the planning, please contact the Baccalaureate Coordinator, Jennifer MacDonald at firstname.lastname@example.org. More information.
